Since this may be the last week we hold an open line before the United States Constitution and our nations founders are stabbed in the back by those sworn to protect this sacred document, I suspect it will receive a lot of talk of the unconstitutional socialized medicine law that will be enacted without adhering to the law of our land.

Other topics are of course also welcome, as always.

White House sent healthcare[sic] propaganda to federal employees.

I’m tired of hearing people refer to this as a “healthcare reform” bill. There is no healthcare and no reform in it-there is only taxes and control and more taxes. You will not have “healthcare” when it passes: you will have mandatory expensive insurance (one of three plans the gov’t will define, and they all have the same coverage and vary only in deductible/co-pay-you do not get to choose or “keep your plan”), which will pay for a portion of medical care received, if you can still get seen after 30-50% of the doctors quit.

On top of that, it taxes prescription medications and medical equipment such as wheelchairs and blood monitors-arbitrarily jacking up the price does not make treatment “more affordable” to anyone who isn’t already getting their treatments “free” (or even $2 co-pay) from tax dollars. All it does it make more people dependent on government.

Anyone who isn’t already getting their living from the government (welfare or paycheck…guess that explains why our dishonest trolls love it…) who thinks this bill will “help” people is an idiot who should be stripped of their right tohttp://badgerblogger.com/?p=16012 vote. And anyone using “Jesus said to help the sick and poor” to justify its passing, can you please show me where Jesus exhorted someone to steal money from the cripple (medical equipment excise tax) and give it to the whore (free birth control pills, free abortion)?

(I’m also tired of hearing about what a genius Barack Obama is. My four-year-old niece can correctly copy a word if you write it out for her.)

  13. Paul Says:

So let’s think about it, Keith:

    - gets a sweetheart, taxpayer-subsidized loan using ethically questionable means, not to mention a potential conflict of interest
    - has no business plan, which means he knows jack shit about business (not a surprise), but also explains why the real world wouldn’t lend to him
    - runs a half ass business that fails in months, where a similar store just failed in the exact spot
    - gets nailed for calling it a co-op when it wasn’t
    - kicked 12 people out to the curb to fend for themselves
    - claims that the taxpayer-supplied loan will be repaid

The Village needs to be peppered with open records requests to prove this loan is repaid.

Keith, I am calling you out. You are an unethical scumbag, and a crap businessman who pisses on the hardworking taxpayers of your community. You take and take, and create nothing of value. You are a leech on the community, on commerce, and industry.

Have another donut, you fat pig. The day you pull an Elvis in the can will be a good day for Wisconsin.

  19. Bruce Says:

Ooh, goody. “tinman-tim” / “jmark” is back, posting through a proxy this time.

Let me guess: Your next comment will be as “jmark,” agreeing with your previous comment as “tinman-tim.”

We’ve been down this road before.

  20. Jaeson Says:

I’m going to outright refuse to comply with the healthcare mandate. I’m simply not going to do it.

If this oppressive healthcare bill passes, then frankly it’s time to open discussions about organizing willing factions of the military and law enforcement to implement the intended use of the 2nd Amendment.

    That can be historic too.

  21. Bruce Says:

    Heather,

    Sycacuse? WTF?

    What a MORON.

  22. Jaeson Says:

He knows what it’s like to make a tough vote? Are you kidding me?

Tell me Barry, how tough is it to vote present?

  23. Bruce Says:

Just remember, you Socialist miscreants, that you own this legislation. When this bad policy produces the opposite effect to every single aspect you promised, and the ire of the American people is turned upon you, there will be no re-writing history. There will be no revisionism, there will be no bi-partisan liability. There will be no one to blame but yourselves.

Too many of us have watched this unfold; paying attention to every nuance, every angle that your evil party has worked in order to advance your holy grail of control over a once-proud Democracy, to ever let you mischaracterize what took place here.

You own this. And you will suffer the consequences, perhaps not just in the voting booth.

Taxpayers, the “producers” in this system, are mad. You have forgotten whom you work for. For years and years, you incompetent dolts have made the mess, and we have cleaned it up with our tax dollars. Enough is enough. No more. If you refuse to listen to reason, we will speak in a different tongue.

You abandoned us. And we will never forget.

  24. Roland_Melnick Says:

RE: Open Book co-op closing in Shorewood.

By closing now, Open Book will be able to repay the village in full for the $35,000 loan, he said. The co-op will attempt to reimburse members for some portion of what they paid to join, depending on how much money the store can generate by selling off its inventory and fixtures.

So does this mean that Amazon and eBay will soon be flooded with thousands of copies of “A People’s History” and “The Communist Manifesto” at bargain prices? Ohhh Goody!!

I think Paul made an outstanding point in saying we should file open records requests to see if Schmitz repays the Shorewood taxpayer-funded loan. Even Shorewoodians, as liberal as most of them are, still deserve to have their tax funds spent wisely…then again, maybe it’s just a case of “just desserts.” Maybe Schmitz would have been more motivated to succeed had he put some of his own money at risk, instead of a suitcase full of tax money.

It’s stories like the one you cite, Bruce, that tend to fade away without further follow-up from the dead tree media.

  25. Bruce Says:

True Dat, Roland, my brother. True Dat.

  26. gus Says:

This Keith Schitz, he’s a very large and very dumb fellow???

  27. gus Says:

Let’s call the big fat loser Keith Soetoro, this fool bankrupted the Book Store faster than Opie has fucked up America.
Liberals have no clue how to MAKE MONEY. They sure know how to spend it.

  28. Patrick Dorwin Says:

    A brief moment of honesty.

  29. HeatherRadish Says:

Heather, if I didn’t know better I’d say you’ve been sipping the same jolly juice that the hysterical lefties have been drinking.

I didn’t make those numbers up.

I probably should have mentioned providers that are staying in business, but refusing gov’t patients. People will have insurance that will not get them healthcare. How is that an improvement?

  30. MjM Says:

Geeze, Paul. Tell us how you really feel :D

Be sure to retain some of that attitude for all those responsible for OK’ing that loan in the first place.

    Here’s a clue to it’s failure.

On the same note, Zupke said that though “we would be remiss not to worry about the competition [with Boswell Books],” she feels that Open Book will be distinct from other area bookstores since “the inventory will be focused towards the north shore customer.”

    Right. Used Maya Angelou.

    A definite recipe for success.

  31. MjM Says:

Also, wanted to raise a glass to recently-former Packer Aaron Kampman, who took out 1/2 page Thank-You ads in the Urinal/Sentinel and Green Bay Gazette yesterday.

I always thought he could have/would have overtaken Gbaja-Biamila as the Packers’ all-time leading sackmeister had he been able to continue in a 4-3 D. The guy was slippery-quick.

A true class act. Best of luck. To Aaron, cheers.
