Chris Liebenthal, seen here playing the role of union goon, is a member of the AFSCME Council 48, Local 645. He is employed in social services for Milwaukee County.
Under both his real name and the moniker “capper”, he is fairly well known within the Milwaukee area blogosphere. He runs several blogs that run the spectrum from professional/work-related, to in your face Liberal blathering, to his community service group that is just another echo chamber for anti-Scott Walker rhetoric as I’ve noted in the past.
When you read his various postings he cuts-n-pastes into his numerous blogs, you’ll see he specializes in vitriolic attacks on Scott Walker that seem born out of a rather unhealthy obsession. If there are weeds growing on a county baseball diamond, it’s Walker’s fault. If there is a crack in a county park’s sidewalk, it’s Walker’s fault. Sea levels are rising because of global warming caused by Scott Walker. There is no hyperbole when it comes to Liebenthal’s attacks…it’s all Scott Walker’s fault because Chris Liebenthal says so.
Fact is a nebulous concept to Chris Liebenthal. If “capper” doesn’t first understand what is a “fact”, don’t expect him to utilize any. A problem that recently landed Liebenthal in a little rhetorical hot water. Rather than jump out of the boiling pot, he inexplicably prefers the continued burning.
Normally, what rational, intelligent folks do when they are caught in a lie is fess up to it and move on. While moving on, said folks will contemplate the situation and engage in a little introspection. Reasonable people can admit a mistake, learn from it and grow as a person.
Don’t expect that from Liebenthal. After Bruce Redenz shot down Liebenthal’s allegation that ”Scott Walker Gives Long Time Crony Huge Pay Raise“, Liebenthal did what one of his own readers described as a “doubling down on stupid.” Professing his mental shortcomings even further, Liebenthal defensively blathers on by insulting Bruce as an “unreliable source” quoting another “unreliable source.”
Message to Chris “capper” Liebenthal…people aren’t “unreliable” just because you say so.
Tim Russell’s salary, whatever it is, is a matter of fact. Bruce contacted Russell and he went on record with the numbers. Russell ought to know…it’s his salary. So it is what it is, capper. If Russell is lying about his salary, which is what you are clearly implying by calling us and him unreliable sources…prove it.
You might have to get off your hefty duff and do some legwork. That would be admirable. Anyone can cut-and-paste their ramblings into numerous blogs. Digging up the truth is a bit different. But I digress…
Now I know that it’s not so easy for Liebenthal to get a response from anyone in Walker’s office. But whose fault is that? Insult and lie about someone 3,000 times…it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know they aren’t going to respond to you. It only takes a reasonable, rational person to know that.

Outstanding post, but just one question - why is there a picture of that actress from “Precious?”
March 27th, 2010 at 4:15 pm
I wonder if he is related to Keith Schitz?
Fat and Stupid is no way to go through life Crapper.
March 27th, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Now that fat f— is attacking Walker for the crime of taking his family out for pizza on a Friday during Lent.
I think it’s time to bombard the county offices reporting that a mentally unstable person is working in the social work department. When Walker wins the gubernatorial race in November, Chris is liable to shoot up the place.
March 27th, 2010 at 6:52 pm
What a disgusting slob! Doesn’t he have any respect for himself? That fat ass is all guts.
March 27th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
Paul, the fat putz threatened violence on me. If I see him coming at me with anyone else, I’m opening fire on him in selfdefense, and I shoot to kill.
March 27th, 2010 at 9:08 pm
“…the fat putz threatened violence on me.”
PCD, care to elaborate? Was the threat made in-person or online?
Paul, what do you have against Gabourey Sidibe to insult her like that?
March 28th, 2010 at 12:02 am
As Paul points out, one of Liebenthal’s two most recent posts claims Walker violated a campaign promise by taking his family out for pizza. The other claims that a county-related logo has an American flag in it that does not have the proper number of stars on it, which in Liebenthal’s eyes is also Walker’s fault…of course.
I’m serious folks…it’s at his blog.
Reading those aforementioned blog blatherings, one will note Liebenthal’s numerous grammatical and/or spelling errors. Combined with the timestamps of those posts, his sympathizers will likely say alcohol may have been a factor. That may be, but when he wakes up tomorrow afternoon and blames Walker for his raging hangover, what will they say then?
March 28th, 2010 at 1:13 am
I think disconnect from reality is putting it mildly.
I’ve posted comments on his blog a few times, and I try my best to be respectful in my disagreements. The last few comments I’ve posted (which I know he’s had plenty of time to read) have gone unanswered… maybe because I countered his claims with facts?
As for his screed about that flag, did he ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, that picture was taken in front of a historic flag that the county keeps for posterity?
March 28th, 2010 at 7:44 am
Roland, he posted the threat over at Real Debate and Fred took down the post.
March 28th, 2010 at 9:31 am
Isn’t county salary information available as public records? If they’re not, they should be. Position and amount paid, every year, every position, right down to the summer make-work jobs for teenagers. Online, not just in the back of a newspaper no one reads once a year.
(If Walker has a flag with 49 stars because he hates Missourah, that would make me like him even more. Heh.)
March 28th, 2010 at 12:55 pm
Doesn’t Liebs read this?
I’m sure he’ll respond with a valid arguement soon.
March 28th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
The salary information Russell provided to me was confirmed with the county exec’s office. I double and triple-check my sources before I post anything.
For Liebenthal to cite one thing I was wrong about in, quite literally thousands of postings over nearly four years here at BB, as a reason to assail me as an “unreliable source” is demented. But I would expect nothing less from this man. He is a man of little character, and fortunately, people are starting to see the real “capper.”
Lest anyone forget, a glimpse into the real “capper” can be found anytime, at his venomous hate website devoted to mocking and ridiculing anyone with whom he disagrees about, well, quite frankly, anything.
That the AFSCME chapter he represents has yet to distance themselves from his detached ramblings speaks volumes of their character, also.
I could go on, but there’s no reason to. WisOpinion.com took down their link to his post. I believe that to be the ultimate commentary on Liebenthal’s dwindling credibility.
March 28th, 2010 at 5:04 pm
Oh, I wasn’t trying to accuse you of misreporting-I apologize if I wasn’t clear. I just really like the idea of taxpayers being able to see who is getting paid what, especially after widespread recent articles about the disparity in public- and private-sector.
Was ignoring the “capper” stuff because he doesn’t seem worth my time.
March 28th, 2010 at 6:00 pm
Maybe because of “capper”, a push for a separation of Unions from State should be started. He pushes and pulls in all the wrong directions and I bet he isn’t the lone union person thinking that way. A separation of Unions from State may be just the thing to fix many of the financial problems in government.
March 28th, 2010 at 10:29 pm
“Name calling, especially of the profane sort, is not welcome and will get you ignored, banned or worse”
Unless, of course, your name calling and profanity is directed at a liberal, then it’s A-Okay!
March 28th, 2010 at 11:15 pm
http://www.rightviewwi.com/the_right_view_wisconsin/zachary_wisnewski
It’s nice to see worthless government union employees try to defend one another, especially from one election loser to (potential) another.
“Oh, and as for those folks in the private sector who have pay freezes, I’ll just say that’s the chance you take working in the private sector.”
- Zach Wisniewski, 9/24/08
Zach nor Chris would last four minutes in the private sector. Both are drains on society and spawn further drains on society.
March 29th, 2010 at 9:15 am
Gee Zach, nothing to say about your buddy’s debunked story that he is sticking with?
March 29th, 2010 at 9:37 am
PCD if this guy threatened you report it. Don’t make threats of your own.
Making a claim of self defense prior to an incident would be looked at very closely by a prosecutor.
March 29th, 2010 at 10:03 am
Zach the Hack and Crapper are pathetic cats.
Cats. If you get my drift.
March 29th, 2010 at 11:23 am
Anyone notice that the posting Capper is pointing to of Bruce being “wrong” was posted as unconfirmed all along?
A real look inside a person comes when you see how they react when they make a mistake. Capper’s lashing out and refusing to admit he was wrong says volumes.
Man Up!
March 29th, 2010 at 11:31 am
If that’s all that Milwaukee County Social Worker Chris Liebenthal can hang his hat on in an attempt to discredit me, what a pathetic human being. Perhaps we should feel sorry for him.
Nah, actually, let’s not. His bennies are too good.
March 29th, 2010 at 11:58 am
Seriously folks. Crapper Libebenthal is morbidly obese and border line mentally retarded. He needs help not ridicule. A picture says a thousand words.
Say “fat loser” 500 times and there you have it.
March 29th, 2010 at 5:49 pm
Good to see Badger Blogger is still condoning personal attacks and juvenile name calling, in keeping with the site’s “comment policy.”
March 29th, 2010 at 7:57 pm
Zach, for the love of God. Chris Liebenthal wrote the book on personal attacks, he made his name in the blogosphere with a website that devotes itself to nearly anonymous personal attacks. Give it a rest, already. Milwaukee County employee Chris Liebenthal takes his cheap shots on his turf, you needn’t come to his aid on someone else’s. You’re like a broken record. Dude, just let it go. Is there something in your state employees’ union bylaws that requires you to defend this hateful twit? Why would you repeatedly paint yourself in such a weak, powerless position in order to prostrate yourself before this dweeb, were you not contractually obligated to do so? You’re a good kid Zach. Your heart is in the right place. I don’t have to agree with you, but if YOU believe what’s in your heart, that’s all that matters. Chris Liebenthal is not a gracious human being. Divest yourself of people like this before they taint your soul with an irreversible darkness.
March 29th, 2010 at 8:20 pm
Bruce, I’m not defending the substance of what Chris wrote; I’m simply pointing out the fact that it’s laughable that you have a “comment policy” given the vitriol and invective your commenters are so fond of hurling at anyone who dares express a viewpoint other than the narrow ideology of folks here at BB. The fact that you and your commenters have seen fit to attack me simply for pointing out that fact is telling.
If you want to attack the substance of what Chris wrote, then fine, but how about doing so without resorting to personal attacks, such as cracks about his weight and comments about him being a dweeb? I thought you were a better man than that, but clearly I was mistaken. And for what it’s worth, Chris and the folks at Whallah! may write for a “hate blog,” but I’d argue the folks who comment here at BB certainly aren’t a hate-free bunch, so what does that say about the kind of blog you’re running?
Have a great night, and keep striving to be the better man.
March 29th, 2010 at 8:35 pm
Zach,
Please show me where I have ever attacked you at this blog.
Thanks,
Bruce
March 29th, 2010 at 8:53 pm
You’re right Bruce; you haven’t attacked me; you just sit back and watch while your commenters do the dirty work for you. I apologize for not being more clear.
However, that doesn’t take away from the bigger point I was trying to make, which was that you’re certainly entitled to express your opinion and call Chris out when he says something that you know can be refuted, but I simply don’t see the need for all the vitriol and personal attacks from your commenters and the folks who run BB. If that’s the niche you want to fill in the blogosphere, then so be it - this is your slice of the intertubes and you can do with it what you want, but the fact that you’ve implicitly condoned this vile and hateful behavior on a blog you’re responsible for says something.
March 29th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
Zach,
I’ve never attacked you here. And I’m not responsible for what commenters post here. This is, for the most part, an open forum.
I’ve chosen sides in the past; in fact, I seem to recall choosing sides once, in the past, for you. For your side.
Seems that, and fifty cents, might have gotten me a cup of coffee.
Have you ever admonished Chris Liebenthal for his rather incendiary views on parents with ‘special needs’ children? Because, applying your logic, if you haven’t, you are as complicit in your endorsement of his opinions as I am of the commenters here at BadgerBlogger.
Adieu.
March 29th, 2010 at 9:22 pm
Zach grow a f@#4ing pair of balls. How pathetic.
March 29th, 2010 at 9:37 pm
Spoken like a true “internet tough guy” gus. I’m always amazed at how tough folks can talk when they’re hiding behind the anonymity of their keyboard.
March 29th, 2010 at 9:48 pm
Zach,
Like a guy once known as “capper?” Or “folkbum?” Or “Other Side of My Mouth?” Or “The Chief?”
Just askin’.
Zach, I’m gonna give you credit for something. At least when you express an opinion, you have the stones to do it using your own name.
That counts for something, in my world.
March 29th, 2010 at 10:07 pm
Reread the policy Zach…then explain where we’re violating it? Patrick wrote that name calling will get you “ignored, banned or worse”…we frequently ignore people when they write stupidly. We’ve even had occasion to ban people we find offensive. As for “or worse”…ask Patrick, it’s his blog, I’m a guest here. Just be nice…he has a dark side.
People can be offensive without using profane or abrasive terms. You recently interjected yourself in a discussion where your only purpose for comment was to insult me. So spare me the whiny “you guys are mean” crap.
March 29th, 2010 at 10:14 pm
And Zach, while we have you here…I will repeat a comment I made to you at that other blog since you, as I said, only stuck around long enough to insult me…
I wrote:
“Actually, now that I’ve had a moment to reflect on your comment, Zach, I’m afraid I do have to call BS on your insult. There was a time when you made a personal appeal to one of my fellows regarding your aversion to the word “libtard.” He relayed that appeal to the rest of us along with your reasoning. We clamped down on that issue…comments were deleted…visitors were admonished and threatened with banishment. In return for the effort, we received no credit or thanks from you, which is fine…but insulting us and polluting 3rd party blogs with this drama is pure BS.
Care to respond?
March 29th, 2010 at 10:15 pm
Zach, name one time you have gone after Tim or KRS or Capper or The Chief for their level of rhetoric.
Just one.
March 30th, 2010 at 9:51 am
Zach you’re a pathetic sissy.
March 30th, 2010 at 8:04 pm
I don’t always agree with Patrick or the appointed few. I’ve never been told what I could post, or to “go after” someone. To my knowledge, I’ve never been censored, though I have had comments hung “awaiting moderation.”
I also know of at least one user that was banned for his ethnically offensive vitriolic, and another that’s been chastised on several occasions.
Since Capper is so concerned about pay, what exactly did we the taxpayers pay this highly intelligent and finely sculpted specimen of manhood?
March 30th, 2010 at 8:06 pm
I find myself, once again, awaiting moderation. Didn’t say bad things, even talked nice about Capper.
March 30th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
BHB, trust me, the comments getting caught in moderation is more annoying for me than for anyone else. Most of the time, I have no idea why some comments get caught in the trap.
March 30th, 2010 at 9:14 pm
By the way, the moderation trap isn’t the most annoying thing here, that would be the stupid childish personal attacks on people. But no one bothers to listen to me, so screw it.
March 31st, 2010 at 11:15 am
I’m thinking that Zach needs to take some desensitivity classes.
March 31st, 2010 at 3:11 pm
I have intention of being civil to Commies.
April 1st, 2010 at 7:06 am
I don’t like the word “libtard” because I feel it unnecessarily insults the mentally-handicapped. Pinkos choose to be limited. I hate to tar people who didn’t get to choose with the same brush, you know?
April 7th, 2010 at 9:43 am
I have either been banned from posting comments at Crapper’s Milwauke County (Employee’s) First blog or my comments are first being censored before showing up. I guess this is what a liberal does when challenged and proven wrong too many times.
April 7th, 2010 at 10:16 am
Heather, I do not use that word here in deference to our hosts. However the word has nothing to do with mentally handicapped, it has to do with Liberally handicapped. Mentally handicapped did not choose to be so. Liberals choose to.
April 8th, 2010 at 9:10 am
@Heather…I don’t particularly like the word either, and we respectfully responded to Zach when he complained about it. Yet, Zach still trashes this blog here and elsewhere without provocation…the epitome of classlessness.
At his core, Zach doesn’t really have a problem with harsh rhetoric (as realdebate ably points out)…but when he doesn’t have anything substantive to say in response to legit criticism of one of his blog buddies, all he can do is attack our visitors.
It’s analogous to when ex-Milwaukee Alderman Mike McGee Jr. had a mountain of criminal evidence stacked against him…having no defense, all he could do was cry racism.
April 9th, 2010 at 10:36 am
Exactly Roland. Zach holds YOU to YOUR standards and keeps no standards of his own.
Sound familiar?
Alynski.
