The Milwaukee Drum is reporting that on Nov. 2nd, election day, Common Council President, Alderman Willie Hines will announce that he is launching a run for Mayor of Milwaukee.

While I don’t agree with Hines on much, I think he would make a better, more involved than Tom Barrett has been over the past 6 years.

I believe that next weeks election results will show just how vulnerable Tom Barrett is, and a challenge to his mayorship was expected.

I would also welcome a challenge from the Right, but replacing the face on the milk carton is the priority.

Just when it couldn’t get any worse for the Milk Carton,….

This was inevitable. Looks like Herbie’s Monopoly game is coming to an end. No more playing Wizard of Oz with his own City.

Love to see Alderman Bob Donovan run for Mayor. He’s the kind of guy this city needs. He has a plan for Milwaukee and “tells it like it is”. No nonsense and get it done. (Willie Hines would be more of the same - too much like Barrett). Donovan supports the police and the fire departments and he loves our great city. I say get Donovan to run.

Bob would probably run for Mayor. He’d be good too. Would make a very interesting race.

Glenn, as you know, I’ve been friends with “Fightin’ Irish” Bob Donovan and his lovely wife for years. I used to think that Bob was a marginal player in Milwaukee. I came to realize, that, Bob Donovan isn’t a media creation. He isn’t SLICK, he isn’t a minority, and he isn’t a LAWYER, nor a MARQUETTE GRAD. (h.s. NOR u.)
Bob is smart. He isn’t polished. He is what Milwaukee “used to be”. Back when MILWAUKEE WORKED.
Glenn, I’ve lost your personal e-mail. E-mail me if you still have mine, I’d like to talk to you.

Getting up tomorrow and pouring milk over his bowl of oat bran cereal will be a challenge for Barrett.

He’s so desperate these days, he’s running ads on abortion…an issue that nobody but Barrett is talking about. When you can’t run on your record…when you can’t ride your predecessor’s coat tails…when the issues at the forefront of people’s minds are a carbon copy of your weaknesses…you gotta do something, right?
