Wow, what an exciting night! I haven’t been able to catch up on the national races, but Wisconsin was a GOP landslide! Scott Walker, Ron Johnson, Sean Duffy, Reid Ribble, Leah Vukmir… what a night!

As I said, I haven’t been following the national races tonight, but the GOP has taken control of the House. Unfortunately we fell short in the Senate, and Harry Reid seems to have held on to his seat, but the GOP made huge gains and now have the ability to curb the Socialist agenda of the Obama regime.

Feel free to use this as an election open line. Gloat, whine, point out your favorite races, whatever you want.

As sort of a side note, I want to say that I have really enjoyed following these races, I have had the chance to get to know several of these candidates, they are good people and I am personally a very happy camper!

I also want to give a shout-out to several people that I have gotten to know that had the courage to challenge the status quo. People like my friend Sam Hagedorn, people like Dan Sebring and Annette Miller Krznarich and others, who cared enough to challenge an uber-liberal in a hugely Democratic district. They all fought a good fight and stood up for what they believe in. Congratulations to them all!

One more thing before I fall asleep at the keyboard… Did you see how the Choo-Choo referendums went? They all went down big, no, not big, 90-10 is more than big, it is massive!

  3. cookiebaggs Says:

Actually, it might be a blessing for 2012 that the Dems kept the Senate.

  4. PCD Says:

Mr. Barrett, that tingle in your seat is not Obama, but the voters’ foot!

  5. PCD Says:

Oh, Russ Feingold, leave the office furnishings and the balance of your franking and office account in the Government’s hands, not your pocket.

  6. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

The adults have regained control of the State of Wisconsin and the House of Representatives!

  7. MjM Says:

    Nice job everyone!

    Anybody catch Rusty’s concession speech?

I almost felt bad for the guy (I said ‘almost’). Walker, Johnson, even Barrett, all surounded by friends, wives, kids, other family, ballons, signs, and co-campaignworkers at the podiums, and there was Rusty all alone in front of a bland backdrop. Thanking his his family by pointing off into an annonymous space in front of him was a cringing moment, and I wondered where his two exes were and what they were thinking.

But listen folks; no rest for the wicked!

    Next Target: Herb Kohl.

Doyle has sold his soul for this train…that fact and his abysmal record are why he didn’t run again. It was an anchor around Barrett’s neck as well.

To the voters of America who are NOT unhinged, full-time lefty bloggers, and those of you who aren’t represented by a public service employees’ union:

    I come bearing good news!

It is OK to admit that you detest Barack Obama, his administration, the miscreants he has surrounded himself with, their intentionally destructive agenda, their politics of divisiveness, their elitism, and their abuse of power. Take comfort, for you have plenty of company.

Moderate Americans, he made YOU, your friends, your families, and your co-workers his enemies, and his “enemies” have spoken. Apparently, demonizing enormous swaths of the American electorate was not a great idea, after all.

Barack and Michelle Obama and their golden-haired sidekick made the supposed “friendly” confines of Wisconsin their adopted home in the final weeks of this campaign, and last night, Wisconsin voters joined Frank Caprio in telling them to “shove it.”

While the events of November 2, 2010 were truly extraordinary, I’d argue that Wisconsin history will recognize another date marking a unique turning-point in this campaign:

That date was Tuesday, September 28, 2010.

I’m guessing Russ regrets taking that seat to Madison on Air Force One to align himself with Barack Obama and Tom Barrett on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 28, 2010. When you immerse yourself in toxicity, not even ‘rallying the base’ can save you.

Speaking of notable dates, here’s another one: January 20, 2013. Our work begins.

Oh, I have one more thing to add.

    Mike Tate

And not a tear was shed.

  11. Patrick Dorwin Says:

Yes, as we awaken, the sun is a little brighter, the birds a little more melodious, and all is right with the America. The only thing disturbing this fine morning is the occasional thud of a liberal leaping off tall buildings…

  12. Patrick Dorwin Says:

About Rusty Feingold’s 2012 comments… Is he already lining up for Herbie Kohl’s seat? Or, more interesting, he he thinking of a challenge to Barry H. Obama? Obama was credited with saying something about fearing an unemployed Feingold… It would be fun to watch those two try and out-liberal each other :-)

  13. jay Says:

    Congrats WI!

You took the State House, State Senate, Governor, and US Senator.

Was hoping that you would take down Rep. (Cruel to be) Kind but guess you can’t have everything.

MN took the State House and Senate (HUGE WINS) and looks like we are stuck with our version of Governor Moonbeam. There is a recount but former Communist party member Mark Ritchie is in charge of it (the same guy who was in charge of the Franken-Coleman recount).

  14. J. Rawson Schaller Says:

Looks like the loudest voice in the Wisconsin leftosphere has checked himself out of the game for a while.

And I went over to Michael Mathias’ “Pundit Nation” to see if he was reminding readers of his bold “Feingold by 10 point” prediction, but surprise! The party is for “invited guests only.”

Undoubtedly some fascinating behind-the-scenes discussion taking place over there this morning.

  15. stalker3 Says:

Mr. Liebenthal must be doing pretty good if he has a second home in northern Wisconsin.
I almost got the impression that he expected government to clean up his leaves after he mentioned that politicians weren’t going to do the job.

  16. A Nonymouse Says:

You guys forget the best part - the Boston Store clerk went down!!!

  17. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

You know Rawson, Mathias just hasn’t been himself since the voters KICKED HIM TO THE CURB in that School Board election. This election might just tip him, and a few others, over the edge. If it doesn’t, the 2012 election surely will.

  24. Patrick Dorwin Says:

Wow, since Peggy West can’t pay her mortgage on her $50K per year taxpayer funded salary, maybe she is planning to move to Arizona, which is “a ways removed” from Mexico…

  25. MjM Says:

    Wait a minute…

    74,500 @6% for 30 years is $447/month.

Add in a PMI of .5%, Property insurance (say, $800/year), and RE taxes of $1,300/ year (using MKE’s 2008 $21.19 per $1000 and 2009′s $64,000 assessed value)… only then do you get to $650 and change.

So she got a twice-the-value mortgage with nothing down.

    And you wonder why…

  26. J. Rawson Schaller Says:

That payoff at closing must have purchased a lot of Cinnabons.

Looks like Peggy West has been doing the Michelle Obama upper-arm workout.

When does Crapper get fired by the new administration? When does Doyle-one do the perp walk?

    Where’s crumbum?

  30. J. Rawson Schaller Says:

    PCD,

Milwaukee county social worker and prolific lefty blogger Christopher Liebenthal is on temporary hiatus. Word on the street is that he’s serving out a 20-day suspension for blogging on county time, not that you’d ever read anything about that from Milwaukee’s “real Watchdog media.”

At least it gives him a chance to rake some leaves in the middle of a state forest. Sounds like time well spent. It will give Chris a chance to ‘collect his thought.’

Milwaukee Public Schools’ longtime teacher Jay “Folkbum” Bullock is waxing nostalgic on the days when his opinions were relevant. You know, last week.

As for Jim & Company, and ‘Uncle Frankie,’ there’s been an odd, low-frequency hum coming from around the state capitol since around 9:30 on Tuesday night. Word on the street is that it’s coming from the Pelliterri Mobile Shredding truck that the Doyle administration has booked until the 3rd week of December.

Probably just some ‘general housekeping.’ Nothing to be concerned about.
