On Saturday morning, I ran into former Secretary of State candidate and founder of the Milwaukee God Squad Pastor David King. I have seen Pastor King speak many times, but this was my first chance to meet him. He assured me that he wasn’t finished yet. In fact, he told me of his plans to announce today that he was going to run for the Milwaukee County Board’s 10th District seat being vacated by Supervisor Elizabeth M. Coggs, as she moves to Madison to fill the State Assembly seat she was elected to last month.

I received a call this morning, and Pastor King has filed his papers and is officially a candidate for the 10th District seat. Many of us have been very impressed with pastor King’s message and energy, and believe he would make an outstanding representative on the Milwaukee County Board.

If you aren’t familiar with Pastor King, you can read his biography from the Sec. Of State campaign site. I have also posted a few videos of Pastor King’s speeches & invocations at various events.

Also running for this seat as of now, is the deputy political director for the state council of Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Eyon Biddle is planning to run for the seat, as is Cavalier Johnson, a member of the North Avenue Community Development Corporation (NACDC).

I’ve heard the man speak at Tea Party rallies more than just a few times. He’s just the voice that’s needed in a leadership role in his community; just the voice of reason and conscience needed on the Milwaukee County Board.

I won’t comment at length about the need, or lack thereof, for another community organizer or union thug on any county board anywhere in the State of Wisconsin.

BTW, watch for one of Supervisor Cogg’s daughters to run too. Just what we need, another Coggs in office.
