To no ones surprise, Charlie Gibson, who was granted the first interview with Sarah Palin, resorted to distortions, out of context quotes and a condescending attitude to slime Palin… They just can’t help themselves, and they keep exposing their true beliefs to the American people.
Michelle Malkin has full coverage.

Well. At least now I won’t have to re-arrange my weekend to be in front of the TV tomorrow.

Charles Gibson would never have taken such an arrogant and disissive tone with Joseph “Plugs” Biden. I half expected him to be fair. Now he’ll be back in good standing with the America hating liberals who fumed when he asked Hillary Clinton about illegal immigrants.

Fortunately the technology of the Internet allows reasonable folks to circumnavigate the garbage that is produced by today’s mainstream media, to find out the real stories.
It’s impact will be small since the traditional media is already widely recognized as hopelessly biased to the point of being virtually irrelevant.
About two days after this thing airs, there will be clips of it coupled with actual facts all over YouTube. Palin/McCain supporters have nothing to worry from this.

Yep, thanks to the internet, here’s a great clip. There’s the Straight Talk Express for you. Very sad.

Hey Joe Blow, the village is wondering where you are. They need their idiot back.

“I got lost in a blizzard of words there.” I actually used to like Charlie. He makes me puke.
September 12th, 2008 at 8:04 am
Absolutely thanks to the internet Joe. Because with it we know that the Lord God Obama, which makes it even sadder that he’s positioned in the Number 1 position.

Honestly I thought she sounded clueless. She sounded like she was answering the questions as if she was at a beauty pageant. She may be a nice lady and all but she scares me. Not knowing what the Bush doctrine was opened my eyes. You can pawn it off to liberal media bias all you want but she was very evasive answering some of the questions. Being an independant voter she didn’t sell me at.
September 12th, 2008 at 9:19 am
Oh nonsense. For whatever reason, Republicans are expected to have omnipotence while liberal Democrats are given free passes.
Of course, they\’re going to try to trip her up on issues, this is to be expected, and she can\’t be expected to be omnipotent, despite liberal expectations.
But the fact of the matter is, Obama isn\’t any better. Thanks to the Internet, we know this. Here, take another look:

Nevermind when Pelosi said Obama was a leader sent by God.
September 12th, 2008 at 9:51 am
Here’s a first, she actually answered questions and stayed on task. If you ask Obama or Biden and other politicians, especially in debates, they don’t answer the question. Their answers are scripted and it doesn’t matter what the question is.
Palin answered the questions. And Fired up, you may call yourself an independent but your reply is nothing but Democratic talking points. if you are independent, come up with an independent answer.
September 12th, 2008 at 10:48 am
Dan my independent answer is she may have given an answer to the question but she didn’t answer some of the questions.
Gibson: When I asked John McCain about your national security credentials, he cited the fact that you have commanded the Alaskan National Guard and that Alaska is close to Russia. Are those sufficient credentials?
Palin: Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that’s with the energy independence that I’ve been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy, that I worked on as chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, overseeing the oil and gas development in our state to produce more for the United States.
What in the world does that have to do with foreign policy? I’m a dumbass liberal explain that me.
Being an independant means I make my own conclusions from the information that is presented. I’m critical of both parties. I think we should scrap the party system and let the best man/woman do the job. But for goodness sake she calls herself a Republican and doesn’t know what the BUSH DOCTRINE is. I mean, not even vaguely familiar with the term?

Sorry those previous comments attributed to dan were made by me.

Jaeson, that youtube clip was hilarious. And Obama is the guy the Dems hail as their successor to George Bush; the guy they claim couldn’t string two sentences together without making a gaffe.
As for the Charlie Gibson interview and the “God” issue, Palin should have asked Charlie if he would have been more comfortable if she had said, “Allah akbar”.
September 12th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
Yeah, there’s Obama gaffes all over YouTube. So Palin made a flub on the Bush Doctrine. I’m sure this will upset the wacko activits on the far left because they sleep with a copy of it under their pillows.
But reasonable folks and true independents are going to be aware of all those Obama gaffes, and the fact that he isn’t any better. MSM perceptions simply do not rule anymore.
September 12th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
It’s not just a gaff on the Bus Doctrine - she refused to answer Yes or No questions and was very evasive. Dems are beat up about this very same thing on this website all the time.
September 12th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
she refused to answer Yes or No questions and was very evasive.
Isn’t that pretty much what Obama did on O’Reilly?
I believe the left’s defense there was that some questions can’t be answered with a simple yes or no. Can Palin use that excuse too?
September 12th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Like. Mr.Clinton, yes or no, do you still recieve sexual favors from women who are not your wife.
Yes or no Mr. Clinton.

“Do you think we have the right to cross the Pakistani border to fight terrorists” or “do you think we have a right to a pre-emptive strike against a country we think is going to attack us” are not a simple questions and cannot be answered with a simple yes or no. Anyone that would quickly answer either question with a “yes” or “no” without demonstrating some thought or rationale, would scare the hell out of me.
Bottom line is that seeking a simple yes or no to complex questions reminds me of some cheap lawyer trick. Gov. Palin, while not as smooth with her answer, wasn’t falling for it. Gibson came off like a condescending goof feeling his own hubris.

70% of people want to ban semi-auto assault rifles?????
Give me a break!
What exactly is an assault rifle anyway?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rGpykAX1fo
My wife is watching it (DVR) and she commented about Gibson,
“What an ass!”
September 12th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
What is the Bush doctrine? According to Karl Rove, the news media has defined 4 different Bush doctrines. She actually explained one of them, she just didn’t answer with the one his highness wanted.

The left has abandoned any shred of honesty and decency they once claimed. They are reaping exactly what they sew at the moment. The aren’t able to stop themselves.
September 12th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Hello, that was my reaction as well. I’m still trying to figure out where that number came from besides out of his backside.
September 12th, 2008 at 11:40 pm
Honestly I have to say I’m really disappointed. I really was naive enough to think that Charlie Gibson would be hard hitting, but neutral. I did not expect him to play Gotcha. If he only held Obama to this kind of scrutiny he could have retained some sense of objectiveness.
I am opposed to Obama, but my wife is very independent, suspicious of both parties and the party system. She watched the interview (before I saw it) and said it was very apparent that Gibson was intentionally trying to discredit Palin. I only wonder how many others have been turned off by this biased attack? The media needs to return to some semblance of neutrality if they hope to retain their audiences.
September 13th, 2008 at 8:55 am
So it’s not just me. Does anyone know where the 70% number came from?
September 13th, 2008 at 10:34 am
I watched the 20/20 thing last night. The whole piece was a hit piece. There was not even one - not one - positive comment about her. Even the fluff stuff at the beginning. My husband looked at me and said “can you see them weaving the negative into everything”. Even whacking her on repeating the stump speech at every venue. Um - they ALL do that….
And - for Fired Up - Energy policy has EVERYTHING to do with national security (not to mention jobs and the economy). That’s what Russia invading Georgia was all about - power and control over a good chunk of the European supply. You may also want to look at who else controls a good chunk of the current oil production…. Venezuala, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Iran….
Drill here, drill now takes on a significantly different meaning viewed thru the national security prism.

Gibson is now in the Dan rather league which means that he will be loved and cherished by the wacked out left but loathed by the rest of sensible and logically thinking Americans.

Edited out of the Gibson Interview:

September 16th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
Good info Jaeson…some of that editing makes me wonder if they had Michael Moore on staff at ABC.
September 16th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
No doubt. Hopefully this link gets spread around.
The part that really popped out to me, was where they edited out anything she said in regards to hating war. I guess that would have made it difficult to paint her as a “war monger.”
